Ancient carvings show that the origin of the flute dates back tens of thousands of years. Modern cedar and love flutes are thought to have been first used by the Sioux Indians.
Legend has it five hole love flutes
were played in courting rituals to
serenade a young mans intended
bride. Lately the native american
flute has become very popular in
meditation and is still a large part
of Indian religion.
Books are now being published
that teach the art of the Native
American flute. The Native American Flute Is a popular instrument
because of its ease of playing. We highly
recommend "The Native American Flute:
Understanding The Gift". This the perfect
mate to Our Navajo flute crafted by Jonah
Thompson.
