Koshare clown Hopi Kachina by Richard Gorman

Product #:  Ka90
Brand:  Hopi
Description:  This is a perfect carved koshare clown kachina I just purchased from famed artist Richard Gorman. This is comparable to any of the finest clown carvings I have ever seen from any of the famous Hopi artists I have delt with. Titled "I didn't do it" Richard shows his sense of humour and expertise as this kachina stands before a watermelon, empty with juice dripping the full length of his body. But yet he is not guilty of being the glutton he is known to be. This is a one piece carving with a secondary large base for stability and watermelon added so real you can taste it. High detail in his shorts, boots, and his face full of expression. One glance and this carving reads like a short story. The gallery price of this 11 inch with base, master work retails from 1200.00 to 1800.00 for collectors. This will be one of your finest collectibles and will not lose value. I will include insurance and have this packed by a service to insure safe delivery. I ship the day after I receive payment. This piece is one of a kind and I only see Mr. Gorman twice a year.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Richard was born in Keams Canyon, Arizona on April 20, 1962, and raised on First Mesa, Polacca, Arizona. His mother was Hopi and his father was Navajo. Hopi tradition states that the children of a Hopi woman are Hopi and belong to her family. This is very common now a days with many famous Hopi carvers. Richard's work is high in demand and he is a famed tribal painter also.
