Salako Mana giant carving kachina

Product #:  ka85
Description:  This carving is an amazing 2 feet high with the natural base and took 5 years to complete..read on. It is a one piece body with the acceptable add ons feathers and crown all of wood. This is the largest cottonwood carving we have collected. This Salako Mana is the work of Herbert Wilson. Herbert runs heavy equipment in Keams canyon Arizona to support his family while his wife makes pottery for a living. In his spare time Herbert studied the Hopi art of kachina carving. He was born at Keams canyon from his Hopi mother and Navajo father. The mothers family dominates by tradition he is concidered Hopi. Herbert went back to this carving over and over and finally finished after 5 years. I could believe the size when I saw it. He left the cotton wood base natural to its authenticity. I usually travel weekly to collect art for my store but because of the economy I have artists beating down the door. Take advantage of these times and my special prices. I will pay the shipping on this massive carving as well as insurance[at least 70 bucks plus].Thank you for supporting the arts.
